Temperature

On Monday we began learning about temperature.  First everyone did a 5 minute quick write in their Investigation Journals about what they knew or thought they knew about temperature.  As we shared our ideas, we created a list that we will cross reference as we learn and verify if our ideas are correct or incorrect.

         

On Wednesday we watched a Brain POP Jr video on temperature and identified key words we would use as we learned about temperature. 

                              

                           

We learned about reading a thermometer. First we practiced on paper thermometers and then we filled out different temperatures on a worksheet.

                 

                  

                

               

 Finally on Friday we did experiments measuring the temperature of our classroom, outside the school, our skin, room temperature water, and ice water.  Lastly, we added salt to our ice water to see how it would change.
