Our assembly began as all classes entered the gymnasium greeted by our very own Francis Wyman Falcon.
Our Service Learning Club displayed the blankets that they made for sick children. The Service Learning Club raised money through a sponsored walk. They bought the supplies and made the tied blankets. The club even had enough money leftover to make a donation to The Dana Farber Pizza Night that they do for patients.
Awards were given out to students who displayed Acts of Kindness. Acts of Kindness is the "A" in our SOAR motto.
Throughout the past two weeks all classrooms at Francis Wyman made a paper chain. Each student wrote down an act of kindness and the links were joined. Each classrooms chain joined together to form a school-wide chain that was extended around the gym.
Our SOAR assembly also involved a mannequin challenge. Ask your child to tell you what that is!
Finally, our assembly ended with a relay race. The relay race was a snowman relay race. Selected students lined up and raced to dress the team's snowman.
After the race ended, the school voted on which snowman was the winner!
